Day 1 of Once Upon a Readathon is over. I figured I'll do a update post together with the mini challenge as well.
On the first day of the Readathon, I've read:
Blood of the Demon by Rosalie Lario (316 pages)
Shadows by Jennifer L. Armentrout (171 pages)
Well, there wasn't anything much for me to do at home at the moment so there's lots of time for me to read. 2 books down and 3 to go!
Today I'm also doing Bailey's mini challenge at IB Book Blogging as part of the readathon. There are two questions for Day 1 of the Readathon.
Question 1:
What is your favorite cover that has been revealed this summer and why? Post a link or picture of the cover if you want.
The cover for Through the Ever Night really captures my attention with its vibrant colours used for the background. I couldn't help but notice the smoky effect behind the cover model. And oh those swirly designs are pretty interesting. In addition, the colours used for the font are pretty cool as well. It gave the title a metallic texture (sort of) that reflects the lights and the letters seems to be glowing. Wow, oh wow.
Question 2:
Do you rely on the cover to help you choose whether you want to read a book or not?
Yes, I do rely on cover to choose books to a certain extent. Usually, I'll glance through the shelves for interesting covers because my past experiences of pretty and good looking cover did not fail me, yet. The second thing I'll look out for is the summary--whether the summary interests me. If it does, I'll read the book. If it doesn't... I'll take a peek at some of the reviews left on Goodreads before I decide if the book is suitable for me. Sometimes, I do happen to see many people blogging about the same book, that is the instance where I don't rely on the cover and just grab the book if many people are saying really good things about the book.
