Good Read!

How exciting! This is the first book by Jeaniene Frost that I've read and I'm pleasantly surprised by Once Burned.  What drew me to read this book was actually the summary--the terrifying power that Leila obtained after a serious accident that left her scarred--and Vlad of course! Put the two of them together and you have a sexy and fast-paced action story that will never leave you bored.

You wouldn't believe how Leila met Vlad (the summary gives no indication of that so you'll just have to read to find out). Leila's abilities (plural) really helped in the dangerous situation. I'm really awestruck by her ability to "learn a person's darkest secrets through a single touch". That's not all, she could also see the person's present. What a useful ability! (for stalking--but no, I'm not a fan of stalking)

The pacing of the story was great. I was kept thoroughly entertained throughout the whole book. As for the ending, it made me want to grab the next book in March to find out what will happen to Leila. Meanwhile, I may just start the author's Night Huntress series. I only knew that Night Prince series is actually a spin-off from Night Huntress series but I'm not complaining!
