{Author Interview & Giveaway} Dr. Cristina Guarneri, author of See No Evil

Today, let's welcome Dr Cristina Guarneri, author of  See No Evil  and The Inceptor's Covenant for a little Q&A!

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
For the past 22 years, I have devoted myself to working on political campaigns throughout New Jersey; including seminars on Ethics and Leadership in Public Policy. I started writing about 15 years ago with children's books. After completing my doctorate and then professional certification, I realized that there was a real need to reach adults, especially after the recession. I found that so many were feeling the stressors of a broken government system. I felt that the one way that I could encourage people was through writing.

Can you provide a brief summary on your See No Evil series?
The See No Evil series shows the journey of how important ethics plays in the role of a politician's life and how difficult it can be at times to maintain a strong moral sense. The way that I had written the books was so that anyone could pick up either See No Evil or The Inceptor's Covenant and feel that they were starting fresh. However, with each of the books there is the underlying theme to promoting ethics based on what we have experienced in the past, present, or what we may encounter in the future in terms of politics and government.

Where do you get your ideas/inspiration for your book?
My inspiration can come from people, music, life events, and history. I find that music helps me a lot to build on my creativity, but also to have the opportunity to look back at history and learn about the work that was done years ago.

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?
As an adult I would saying Playing for Pizza by John Grisham. As far as a child, I didn't read much growing up. I began creating designs for clothes at the age of 8.

Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
My book is based on real life experiences, either past or present. I'm looking to really inspire readers and to give them the reason to believe and hope for a better tomorrow than what we already have today.

How did you come up with the title?
See No Evil was developed while working with my editor. The Inceptor's Covenant came to me while attending church service on a Sunday morning.

What books have influenced your writing?
I would say the books written by John Grisham.

Will you have a new book coming out soon?
Yes, my next book Imaginary Lines, the third book in the See No Evil series, will be out in 2014. I have completed a few short stories that are based off of the See No Evil series that I am looking to have published as well.

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?
There are so many great authors and books that are out there. I tend to read John Grisham as an adult. As a child I wasn't much for reading, which is why prior to the See No Evil series I had written a few children's books.

Having earned a prestigious position, Matt Logan began his career working for the government. It was a welcome change from the life he had grown accustomed to in college-although Matt didn't know at the time that it would come to him with a cost. He carries in his mind a secret he must either learn how to live with or divulge. In the background are the remnants of the American antiquity that lead to a government and political downfall and challenge the ethics of an honest man. Today, with the biggest bust of criminal and corrupt politicians in history, written against the sweeping backdrop of historical and political events, there is an urgent and opportune relevance.

For centuries the people had lost their will to be represented by lawmakers. Politics was seen as an unfair game. Continuing to watch with disappointment in the nation's leadership, it was America that continued to take a turn for the worse; with high unemployment rates, homes being foreclosed, terrorism, and a lack of accountability by public officials. It was clear that the House of Representatives would not be able to get the support needed to turn the nation around for the better. It would take commitment to change. Maybe it was the cold midnight air, or the idea of one day returning to his rootshis love affair with government weighed heavy on the mind of one-time elected official Matt Logan. Having to make a choice, he would never be able to tell his most trusted confidants his decision. Miles away, in a crowded courtroom, a jury returned a stunning verdict against some of the finest aristocrats in history. No one ever imagined that the most well-known cities were holding a secret. It took power to run a city. It took certainty to unveil the most sophisticated crimes being watched by the world. What was safe anymore in politics? Top law enforcement agencies would love to know. But only Matt knew their deceit. On paper, a politician's situation looked good, but in the end only an Inceptor knows the true covenant that awaits him...
