RATING: 4 out of 5 Stars

Compromising Willa is the third book in The Accidental Peers series but I have no trouble reading it as a stand-alone at all. In fact, I find Compromising Willa to be a smooth and enjoyable read. It is also a page turner that had me finish reading it in one morning.

Augustus Manning was introduced in the first page and learned of how he came to be the new Earl of Bellingham. Next came Lady Wilhelmina Stanhope and a hint of her past with Augustus Manning. The two had a conversation which was overheard by Duke of Hartwell. How interesting! One will never know how the story will progress from here on unless the person reads the book!

It's amazing how one can come to dislike a character immensely and yet like the other so endearingly. Augustus was a mean man! Although he seemed to be a fine candidate for Willa but he quickly proved otherwise. He paled in contrast to dearest Hart (Duke of Hartwell)! Hart didn't care about Willa's past scandal but his jealously did cause some hurt. His jealousy was justifiable because of his good intentions towards Willa and that made me like him so much!

Our Willa was one strong and independent character who was left on the shelf but that didn't stop her from doing what she wanted. She was content with what she has and was open to spinsterhood until Hart came along. She's special and even dared to contradict and refused pursuit of a Duke! How interesting!

I like Quincy's style of writing--reading the story was easy and the whole plot flows smoothly. The length of the story was just right--not too long and not too short--and I had a good time reading it. I would recommend the book to anyone interested in Regency romance!
