Goodreads Summary:
Keegan lives to exact revenge on the evil demon who sired and abused him. When his father devises a plan to bring on the apocalypse, he and his three half-brothers, interdimensional bounty hunters for the Elden Council, are charged with capturing and delivering their father for punishment.

Art gallery owner Brynn Meyers has no idea that her ability to read memories embedded in objects and drain people of their life force means she has demon ancestry. Unfortunately for Brynn, she's also the key to raising an ancient zombie army, which puts her on every demon's Most Wanted List. And no one wants her more than Keegan's father.Keegan must protect Brynn from his father by any means necessary, but he'll have to learn to harness the other half of his genetics-the far deadlier, uncontrollable half-when he starts to fall for the one woman standing between him and the vengeance he so desperately seeks. The one woman he'll never be able to resist.

My Opinion
Demons are supposed to be ugly looking evil creatures, aren't they? Well, let Blood of the Demon prove you wrong!

Brynn was just a normal lady and the owner of an art gallery. She was knocked out by some guy in her own art gallery one night and was kidnapped! Keegan was the name of the guy who kidnapped her to stop his evil demon father from bringing apocalypse, for she was the key to grant his father the indestructible army he so craved. He has the help from his three half-brothers, all of whom are born with special abilities. However, he'd have to destroy the key if his father manage to find the hidden book! Well, Brynn wasn't some weakling. She has some sort of special powers--the power to tap into memories of the items and drain people of their energy. Will they be able to stop their father from obtaining the book and the key to the indestructible army?

The author spins an enjoyable story of demons, filled with danger, romance and a wonderful cast of characters. It was easy to feel Keegan's attraction to Brynn from the start and how he was always protecting her and fulfilling her wishes (even though she was kept as a prisoner). Brynn was definitely a strong and courageous character whom I admired. She's totally selfless. And those half brothers of Keegan are totally cool, each with their own special ability. I was able to feel their unique bond to each other and was impressed with the way they respected their eldest brother and supported him. Great one at that! However, I do have to admit that the pace of the book is slow at certain parts. Nevertheless, it is still worth a read.

Overall, Blood of the Demon is an entertaining paranormal romance with a unique concept which I'd recommend it to those who enjoy this genre. I'm looking forward to book 2 of the series to read more about Brynn and Keegan.

Quotes
  • “Glad to see you two douchebags can relax when this whole world is on the verge of being destroyed,” Keegan said.
“No problem,” Dagan said, before turning his attention back to the screen.
    Smartass.

  • But instead of collapsing as she expected, the man merely lifted one perfect brow. “Ow.”
That was it. That was all he said.
“Ow?” Brynn repeated, going numb with shock. She’d felt it! She’d felt the familiar draw of energy. But instead of falling to the ground in an unconscious puddle, he just said, Ow?
    Ow?

  • “We can’t run forever,” she said.
He tugged her head backward so he could stare into her eyes. His gaze was bright and earnest. “Brynn, I can fly. We’ll soar all over this world, if that’s what it takes.”

About the author: Rosalie Lario
Formally trained as a corporate and real estate lawyer, I practiced law for 5 years before finally admitting to myself that negotiating contracts wasn’t nearly as fun as dreaming up stories. As an avid reader of romances and supernatural stories, I knew I wanted to write urban fantasy and paranormal romance.  Tales of vampires, demons, and other supernatural beings ensued.

I’m currently working on the Demons of Infernum series, a series of paranormal romance novels featuring four sexy half-demon brothers and their reluctant heroines.

When not writing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son in our home state of Florida, as well as searching out things that go bump in the night. I still haven’t found any, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

If I ever do find evidence of the supernatural, it remains to be seen whether I’ll jump around in excitement, or run screaming in terror (but I’m betting on the latter)!
