Goodreads Summary:
What happens in Vegas…can lead to romance.

It took one wild night for Sergeant Jeremy Addison to realize that Vegas? Was a bad idea.

Bloody. Bruised. Dehydrated. Abandoned in the desert, and left to stagger down the road. The only way this leave could get worse was if his savior was his ex-best friend’s sister…and the girl he’d loved since childhood.

The last person Erica expected to find on the roadside was her high school crush. She hadn’t seen Jeremy in seven years—ever since the night he said he loved her, and she ran away. Losing him then had been a mistake, but wanting him now could be catastrophic if he discovered the secret that chased every other man from her life. But with a tall, tattooed Marine determined to prove he’s always been faithful, can Erica resist his advances…or will she surrender ground and give love a try?

My Opinion
Why didn't I see this earlier, like on the day it was released? Oh my gosh! This is so good!

I love the story, I love the characters and I love Diane for spinning such a wonderful love story that leaves me smiling when the two main characters finally accepts each other! I mean... really... when two of them have been thinking about each other for so long after so many years... that's really sweet! Erica has a sad past and this made her unwilling to accept Jeremy despite his interest in her. Jeremy has some self acceptance issues that he had to resolve. Both of them had their problems and had to work them out. The build up of the story is GREAT! The characters are realistic and relatable. I love the close bond between Erica and her brother Tommy too. One word to summarize Try Me: FANTASTIC. Not to mention that there's some funny scenes as well. Gosh, Diane, can I have more? :)

Oh! Did I mention that the cover is yummy? :D

Quotes
  • "Don't worry. I'm too ornery for anyone to hit me."
Her lips quirked and she glanced at him. "Someone hit you pretty hard last night."
"Funny. You know what I meant." He snapped a mock salute. "Sergeant Jeremy Addison, at your service. Too proud and determined to get shot."
She laughed. "You mean too stubborn and bullheaded."
    "Po-tay-to, po-tah-to."
  • "So a shoe blacked your eye?"
"Most of that is shoe polish." He grinned, then grimaced and touched his lip. "Ow. No more making me smile."
"I'll do my best to be dull and boring." She scrunched up her nose. "Shouldn't be too hard. I am a lawyer. It's my job to bore everyone to death. They plead guilty just to shut me up."
  • He rubbed his jaw and studied her, his brows knitting. "Are you sure you want me hanging around? It's been years. For all you know, I'm an escaped convict playing Marine."
"Please." She rolled her eyes. "We grew up together. I just saw you naked. I think we're past the 'stranger danger' conversation."
