Goodreads Summary:
There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

Firstly, I must say that the prologue pretty much gave a portion of the plot away but no names were mentioned so it's up to our imagination for a little while. It left me a little confused but it got better after that and left me anticipating the moment when the two characters cross each others' path again.

The setting of the story is in a reform school, which Luce newly joined and it's pretty interesting to read how the school works and the types of students who went there. What intrigues me the most was the mystery behind the guy named Daniel. He left a bad impression on Luce when they met but she was still intrigued. And there's another guy called Cam who seemed to be interested in Luce. How will the story continue from there?

I enjoyed reading Fallen despite its predictability. When I reached the end of the book, there were questions in my mind which were left unanswered which will bring me to the next book! Give the book a try for yourself!

Quotes

“Please don't worry. I will always come for you. I won't let you go until you understand that."
"Then I refuse to understand," she said

“We meet. We always meet, somehow we're always thrown together, no matter where I go, no matter how I try to distance myself from you. It never matters. You always find me.”

“Soooo," Arriane said. "Now you've met Randy."
"I thought his name was Cam."
"We're not talking about him," Arriane said quickly. "I mean the she-man in there." Arriane jerked her head toward the office where they'd left the attendant in front of the TV. "Whaddya think-dude or chick?"
"Uh, chick?" Luce said tentativley. "Is this a test?"
Arriane cracked a smile. "The first of many. And you passed. At least, I think you passed. The gender of most of the faculty here is an ongoing, schoolwiide debate. Don't worry, you'll get into it.”

  2. I had a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I didn't exactly love it, but I didn't hate it either. I agree that it was a little predictable, but I guess I enjoyed it well enough in the end as I continued with the series. Great review, Michelle! :)

  3. I liked Cam more than Daniel. I'm very happy with the ending of this series even though it wasn't the best.
